Step 3: The Scale-Up in the Pilot Plant

Careful scale-up steps in our versatile pilot plant generate all necessary production process parameters for the resulting final product forms: powders, granulates, agglomerates, coated or matrix-encapsulated particles.

The corresponding processes may be run batch wise or continuously providing the required performance to the final particles. Through modification of the process parameters during scale-up trials a product optimization may happen resulting in an increased throughput and representative sample quantities from 20 kg up to 5,000 kg final product.

Several tons of a new product made in our Pilot unit allow us to carry out accurate cost calculations for future large scale production campaigns. Our customers may already start with these quantities their industrial evaluations or even a product launch into the market without the need of large scale production campaigns.
